Our Community Service Projects

Community service is an essential part of a Maple Elementary School education. Click on the titles below to see the many ways our students help in our community.

Coins for Caring

Each year, Maple joins schools throughout the district to raise money for Tulare’s Lighthouse Rescue Mission. Students will be collecting coins in their classrooms to donate to the Lighthouse Rescue Mission in Tulare. This will take place late Spring.

Jump Rope for Heart

Kids Heart Challenge is sponsored by the American Heart Association and raises money to help kids with special hearts. The Kids Heart Challenge (formerly known as "Jump Rope for Heart") has been a part of Maple for many years. In the Spring, on May 29, 2020, students will participate in the Kids Heart Challenge. They can ask for donations from family and friends to donate to the Kids Heart Challenge Association.

United for Good

Maple has teamed up with TCSD schools throughout Tulare to support Heroes Play Games. Heroes Play Games hosts an annual 24-hour gaming marathon and fundraising streams to support Valley Children's Hospital, rallying fellow gamers and sponsors. With unwavering dedication, they alleviate the burdens of illness for young patients and their families, harnessing the transformative power of gaming to make a difference in healthcare for children. Through their efforts, Heroes Play Games demonstrates that gaming can be a force for positive change in the world. Join us in supporting such an amazing organization by purchasing your 24-25 UFG shirt we wear every Wednesday to show that we are United For Good!

Canned Food Drive

Maple, together with schools across the district, collect toys and canned food for those who in need of a little extra help during the holiday season. Students can bring in canned foods or non-perishable items to be collected and donated within our community in the Fall and Winter.

Tulare Police Department - Toys for Tots

During the month of December, students and staff can drop off new, unwrapped toys in the office. The office has a bin for collection and the Tulare Police Department picks up all donations. These toy donations go to needy families in the area for Christmas gifts.
